Just look at this cute baby we did a colostrum test on today!
Just one of the many services we offer for our equine friends.

Welcoming a new foal into the world is an exciting moment—but did you know that one of the most important things you can do in those first few hours is test the colostrum?

Colostrum—the first milk produced by the mare—is rich in antibodies that protect the foal from infections during the first weeks of life. But not all colostrum is created equal, and some mares may produce poor-quality or insufficient amounts.

Why test colostrum?
A simple colostrum test can quickly assess whether the foal is getting the immune protection it needs. If the quality is low, early intervention (like supplementing with stored colostrum or plasma) can make all the difference in preventing life-threatening infections.

Timing is critical! Foals only absorb these vital antibodies within the first 12-24 hours—after that, the window closes.

Healthy foals start with informed care. Don't skip the colostrum test—your foal's life could depend on it.
